Gather Food Hall Will Bring Diverse Flavors & Bulletin Bar To Schuylkill Yards, Opening October 31, 2025
Lineup includes hometown staple Federal Donuts, plus vibrant, minority-owned concepts Mucho Perú, Sahbyy Food, El Mictlan, and Bowl’d Masala
PHILADELPHIA, PA — October 16, 2025 – Gather Food Hall today unveiled its lineup of confirmed vendors, bringing together a mix of Philadelphia favorites and minority-owned startups. The debut lineup features Federal Donuts & Chicken, local Peruvian favorite Mucho Perú, Cambodian fusion restaurant Sahbyy Food, family-owned Mexican restaurant El Mictlan, and modern Indian street food concept Bowl’d Masala. Located in Schuylkill Yards, Gather Food Hall will officially open its doors to the public on Friday, October 31, 2025 and will be open daily, Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM (Federal Donuts will open daily at 8:00 AM, serving breakfast; all other vendors will open at 11:00 AM).
Gather Food Hall will be a place for office tenants, students, and locals in University City to meet, collaborate, and share meals and drinks. Hospitality HQ (HHQ) co-CEO and founding partner Akhtar Nawab, an award-winning chef and restaurateur, is leading the food concept curation at Gather Food Hall. HHQ is currently the fastest-growing food hall management company in the country, with critically acclaimed restaurants and communal dining projects in NYC, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and more.
“Philadelphia is a destination that has long been on our radar at Hospitality HQ,” said Chef Akhtar Nawab, co-CEO and founding partner. “The city’s dining culture has experienced an incredible wave of innovation in recent years, and we felt that University City – and the energy of Schuylkill Yards – was the perfect setting for a food hall that celebrates that spirit of growth and creativity.”
The food hall will also feature the Bulletin Bar, a full-service bar inspired by the newspaper printing press that once occupied the site. The bar’s design pays homage to the building’s storied past while embracing its modern evolution. Just as the Philadelphia Bulletin once connected the city through conversation, the Bulletin Bar will offer a space for connection and conversation. The Bulletin Bar features a menu of handcrafted cocktails, draft beer, and wine, making it the perfect stop for after-work happy hours, a drink before catching a train at 30th Street Station, or meeting friends to watch the game.
Vendor Lineup:
- Federal Donuts & Chicken, the beloved Philadelphia brand founded in 2011, will join the lineup at Gather Food Hall. The stall will serve all the classics fans know and love – from signature fresh donuts and minis to breakfast sandwiches, fried chicken sandwiches, coffee, teas, and more.
- Mucho Perú, the vibrant Peruvian food startup that launched in 2024 with a series of popular pop-up events across Center City, Fishtown, and the Main Line, will bring its bold flavors to Gather Food Hall. Founded by Brizna Rojas and Aldo Obando, the concept celebrates the richness of Peruvian cuisine with a menu featuring empanadas, ceviche, fresh salads, a Peruvian pork belly sandwich, hearty bowls, and traditional desserts such as alfajores and tres leches. With their first food hall stall, Rojas and Obando are continuing to grow Mucho Perú’s presence in Philadelphia’s culinary scene while introducing more diners to what they believe is one of the world’s finest cuisines.
- Sahbyy Food, Cambodian food vendor known for the acclaimed Lemongrass Cheesesteak (named Best of Philly by Philadelphia Magazine), will be opening their first brick and mortar location in Gather Food Hall. Founders introduced the Cambodian Lemongrass Cheesesteak at the Southeast Asian Market at FDR Park, and this reimagined Philly classic will be on the menu at Gather Food Hall, alongside a Ch’Kai Chili Dog, Sahbyy Bolognese, wings in an assortment of sauces, and more.
- El Mictlan is a small, family-owned South Philadelphia serving authentic Mexican West Coast cuisine. The menu will feature a taco bar with an assortment of taco varieties, including shrimp, chicken, butternut squash, al pastor, birria, barbacoa, and more. Plus, accompanying menu items include house made guacamole, tuna tostadas, and a rotating selection of seasonal dishes.
- Bowl’d Masala, founded by Pankaj Kumar during the pandemic as a pioneering “cloud kitchen” concept, is bringing its fresh, flavorful take on Indian-inspired cuisine to Gather Food Hall. What began as a single kitchen has since grown into a thriving franchise network with locations in food halls, malls, and community hubs nationwide. At Gather Food Hall, guests can experience Bowl’d Masala’s signature blend of traditional street flavors and health-conscious options, with a menu that includes customizable bowls, wraps, and salads alongside tandoori wings, naan pizzas, hot drinks, and more.

The neighborhood connects Center City with University City and features new office, lab, residential, and retail spaces alongside significant public green spaces. Gather’s Mission
Many aspiring chefs and restaurant professionals face barriers to entry, from resource gaps to a lack of professional mentorship. Two of Gather Food Hall stalls were awarded to outstanding chefs facing these issues. They are supported by $25,000 grants from the city, low interest loans and a mentoring program that provides guidance from successful restaurateurs and experts in marketing, communications, legal, and restaurant finance. Gather Food Hall equips its vendors with the experiential and learned skills and knowledge to grow their businesses.
Gather Food Hall has also committed itself to addressing an underexposed issue in the community: food insecurity among college students. College students are far more likely to experience food insecurity than the general population, with one in four college students struggling to know where their next meal is coming from. Gather is working in partnership with Believe in Students, one of the country’s leading nonprofit organizations focused on addressing the basic needs of college students facing food, to tackle the critical issue of food insecurity among Philadelphia’s college students. To address this issue, Gather will provide impacted college students low-cost, stigma-free meals while connecting them with broader supports and solutions. Brandywine Realty Trust has made a ten-year, $250,000 commitment to the project, and Gather will provide diners with the opportunity to participate in this effort.
“It’s hard to focus on school when you’re not sure where your next meal is coming from,” said Traci Kirtley, Executive Director of Believe in Students. “Gather Food Hall is establishing an innovative approach to solving this issue by not only feeding students but elevating the issue in our public consciousness.”
In the first year of operations, Gather expects to provide 5,000 meals to Philadelphia students through Believe in Students’ work with area colleges and nonprofit organizations.
